It's a fact that most people need to ingest sufficient amounts of water and air. I marvel to think that our collective anxiety as a species can be, in countless cases, reduced to attending to our inhales and exhales. Then there's the largely unnoticed thing about imprisoning our own children.

In the United States of America today, millions and millions of children are victims of violence, by their parents, and others. And there seems to be a general ambivalence about it. At Child Rights Foundation, we strive to do more.

Is it a coincidence that the only nation in the world that failed to take a stand against imprisoning children is the nation with the highest population of children in prison?

Fentanyl is everywhere. So is poverty, child abuse, neglect, alcoholism, single parents homes, and limited resources. But hope also lives here in a city struggling to survive.
