Make them behave. So drug them. Numb them. Treat developmental trauma not with love and support and holistic care: just treat the symptoms. We must stop. Children’s rights are human rights.

When I hear canards about defunding the FBI, I wonder if proponents understand our judicial system — that some actions, given their insidiousness and threat rise to the level of federal crimes. Consequently, we have specialized law enforcement to track down and deal with offenders of federal crimes: the FBI and federal prosecutors.

Cabinet officials determined there's more space for foster child placement across Kentucky, which is only at about half capacity. The problem is that the handful of children without a home to stay in are some of the most challenging to care for, due to extreme behavioral issues or other traumas.

This happens around the country — children living in offices, sometimes sleeping on floors.

In the past 20 years in the United States of America, the cases of over 100,000 missing foster children were closed before the children were located. Some cases were closed as quickly as six months and on children as young as 9.

It's a fact that most people need to ingest sufficient amounts of water and air. I marvel to think that our collective anxiety as a species can be, in countless cases, reduced to attending to our inhales and exhales. Then there's the largely unnoticed thing about imprisoning our own children.

In the United States of America today, millions and millions of children are victims of violence, by their parents, and others. And there seems to be a general ambivalence about it. At Child Rights Foundation, we strive to do more.

Is it a coincidence that the only nation in the world that failed to take a stand against imprisoning children is the nation with the highest population of children in prison?

Fentanyl is everywhere. So is poverty, child abuse, neglect, alcoholism, single parents homes, and limited resources. But hope also lives here in a city struggling to survive.

Republican leaders across the nation work to reverse child labor laws. The party of “family values” must understand the value of protecting children from child abuse.

A city being ripped apart by fentanyl. Children losing their parents. Saddled between fine arts and natural treasures is a city struggling for its very survival.

The attempt to cancel books by Republicans should never be replaced by the defunding of libraries. Countless children rely on these sacred spaces for learning, and safety.

Child neglect includes failing to protect a child from harm, or harming others. When a child struggling with violent outbursts is allowed to access a loaded gun, and bring the gun to school, we must act.

A child removed from her home due to neglect and abuse . And then she has no foster home to go. Sadly, this is the reality for countless children today. At Child Rights Foundation, we seek to end this sad reality.
